Engagement rate — the share of your audience that likes and comments on your posts — is the single number brands scrutinise most, because it measures real attention rather than a follower count that can be bought or gone stale. It's calculated as (likes + comments) ÷ followers × 100. A smaller creator with a 6% engagement rate is often more valuable to a brand than a large one at 0.5%. This calculator works it out and tells you which benchmark band you fall into, so you know how much leverage you have when you quote a rate.
